First rate Marvel and DC comic book authors, illustrators and editors join forces with Galatia Films to create “Birth of Bane”, a new documentary chronicling the iconic character Bane within the Batman series, from his meteoric rise among fans to his eventual success on the big screen. Illustrator Graham Nolan and author Chuck Dixon partner with Galatia Films once more along with legendary American comic book writer and editor Denny O’Neil and Batman, Green Lantern, Joker author Scott Beatty.
Many within this solid group of industry experts have already been interviewed by Galatia Films with a few remaining shoots set for later in the month. “Reclaiming the Blade” (Viggo Mortensen, Karl Urban, John Rhys-Davies) writer/director Daniel McNicoll is once more doing the same for this highly anticipated film. Galatia favorites Scooter Downey (Rebel’s Run) and Mac Ruiz (Aladdin/2019) will produce with the former managing the editing process. David Harbin of Harbinger Marketing will be assisting in the promotion and marketing of the film with Galatia and Vision Films managing the distribution process.
Portrayed by Tom Hardy in Christopher Nolan’s “The Dark Knight” Warner Bros. series, Bane is a fan favorite published by DC Comics. Created by Dennis O’Neil, Chuck Dixon, Doug Moench, and Graham Nolan, he made his debut in Batman: Vengeance of Bane #1 (January 1993). Bane is usually depicted as an adversary and sometimes ally of the superhero Batman and belongs to the collective of enemies that make up the Batman rogues gallery. Possessing a mix of brute strength and exceptional intelligence, Bane is often credited as the only villain to have “broken the bat” both physically and mentally. IGN has consistently listed him in there Top Comic Book Villains of All Time.
Joining this solid group of experts are Galatia friends and Dark Knight stunt coordinators Andy Norman and Justo Dieguez who both very much created the “straight from the streets” fight techniques and styles that were exclusively chosen by Christopher Nolan for the films. Andy Norman, creator of Defence Lab is no stranger to Hollywood films training actors such as Liam Neeson, Tom Cruise and of course Christian Bale and Tom Hardy for the Dark Knight films. His technique, Defence in Action is one of the most popular martial arts systems in the world. Not to be outshined, Justo Dieguez pedigree is equally impressive, having worked on many of the same films with said actors all while develop his own extremely popular marital arts system, the Keysi Fighting Method .
