Hasbro and Lucafilm Partner with Galatia Films

This season Hasbro and Lucasfilm, makers of the first ever Force FX Lightsabers, have partnered with Galatia Films in a promotion that saw many winners receive the new lightsabers. NY Jedi was on hand as well to demo the stunt ready sabers on Good Morning America. Galatia Films has been at the forefront of rediscovering the sword with its titular film “Reclaiming the Blade” and its consultation on Disney/ESPN’s “Evolution of the Lightsaber Duel”. This along with a crucial interview and friendship with Darth Vader stunt choreographer Bob Anderson, made this the perfect opportunity to promote the Star Wars franchise along with Galatia’s own work.

Hasbro which has partnered many times in the past with Lucasfilm, is an American multinational toy and board game company. It is the largest toy maker in the world in terms of stock market value, and third largest with revenues of approximately $4.45 billion. The iconic Star Wars figures of the eighties continued to help propel the company into success.

Lucasfilm which originally launched the nations love affair with the lightsaber, is an American film and television production company based in the Letterman Digital Arts Center in San Francisco, California. The studio is best known for creating and producing the “Star Wars” and “Indiana Jones” franchises, as well as its leadership in developing special effects, sound and computer animation for film. Lucasfilm. founded by filmmaker George Lucas in 1971, sold the much beloved company Disney in 2012 at a valuation of $4.06 billion.
